Opus 4

This is currently the last instrument, which was fully manufactured in our workshop in 2018. It is built in accordance with the French style. During its construction we were inspired by the book „L'art du facteur d’orgues“(Dom Bédos de Celles) by François Lamathe from 1766. The player could be interested in the instrument’s impressed range, which is incredible 5 octaves (from CC to c3), the lower octave is short.

The backbone of the instrument consists of a spruce wood covered with elm varnished with shellac polish. The linden fillings are covered with ebony and the olive marquetry is delicately soften with mosaics from New Zealand nacre coming from the Paua shell. The basement of the keyboard is made of linden wood, the keys hold thanks to glued parchment. The olive wood is used to coat the whole tones and ebony with a bone component are used for semitones.

The sound of the instrument is pleasantly soft and colorful thanks to the round brass beds. Blowing of the instrument must be ensured directly by the player, who can control the blowing pedal with his right foot. A left foot pedal is also available. It is intended for regulation of the power of tone and the tone color. Finally, there is also possible the regulation of treble organ pipes. It uses the fact that the treble organ pipes are always slightly weaker than the bass organ pipe.

If you look for our workshop's sign, you can find it on a lead weight of the bellow and as a Paua shell marquetry in the front of the instrument.
